Dreams can explore the deepest of regrets, worries and loss. “When I Dream, I Think Of Her”, 2022, is a short film inspired by the loss of innocence through aging. The work is an abstract depiction of the passage of time specifically through the lens of sisterhood. As the individual experiences of siblings coincide throughout a lifetime, their lives differ and perceptions; vary. Through the inclusion of archived footage and new footage, the medium plays a role of merging past and present, and allows viewers to experience time abruptly- as a manifestation of truth in our perception as we age. While time in the story is not linear, it is sporadically present like memory, and illustrates the way my recollection of the past is their present.
